LRA’s Ukulele Club (the d’Ukes of Longbarn) was formed at the end of January 2017, with the majority of the members being totally new to playing any musical instrument. They were given introductory lessons and they, and the club, which is very well supported, have gone from strength to strength. They now play gigs for good causes, the most recent one being Woolston Show, and have recently recorded a CD.Since the outset, a number “complete novice” people who missed the first “intake”, have shown interest in joining the club.
However, any complete beginner just coming along would find it hard to join in and would first benefit from a course of introductory lessons and support and guidance.
So, to help these people to get started and to get them to a point where they feel comfortable playing at the club, “the d’Ukes” will be running a course of 4 lessons for “complete novices” during October (4th, 11th, 18th, 25th), Wednesday evenings 7:15 pm (prompt please) to about 8:45 pm at Padgate Village Club.
The lessons will cost just £1 per lesson (to cover costs of photocopying etc.).
Are you interested?
If so, act now because these courses do not come along often, and e-mail your contact details (name, phone number and address) to ukulelelongbarnra@outlook.com
Ask anyone you know, who is a club member, about the club meetings and they’ll tell you what great fun it is singing and playing.
