Our congratulations go to Trinity Girls Brass Band for their excellent performance and result in the National Brass Band Championships of Great Britain.
(This is the Band that has entertained us so well at our two Community Fun Days. Such a success they have been booked again for 2018.)
A grand total of 74 brass bands (the best of the best, having qualified from the eight regions earlier in the year) made the trip to Cheltenham to compete at the National Brass Band Championships of Great Britain on the weekend of the 16th & 17th September 2017. Trinity came second out of 21 bands in their category.
Trinity Girls Brass Band has the unique distinction of being the only all-female amateur brass band in the country. It is a well-established organisation based in Garswood (between St Helens and Wigan), which for more than fifty years has provided opportunity for members of the local and wider community to develop their playing skills on a brass instrument.
In the brass band world, that for many years was predominantly male, they have had many successes in a variety of performances – true girl power!
However, more importantly, they enjoy performing and the fun they have is undoubtedly expressed in the music they play.
A great achievement and we look forward to seeing them again soon.
