Have you seen the renovated Irlam Station?  Wouldn’t it be good if we could renovate our Padgate Station to this standard?

LRA are in the process of forming “Friends of Padgate Station” and are seeking volunteers to help.  We already have a potential Chairman for this project.  If you are interested in this project please let us know via our Contact Page on our website and we’ll be in touch.  Nothing has been done for a very long time to upkeep the fabric of the station and the building has had to be closed,  being dangerous.  Upon request from LRA the station was recently painted by Northern Rail and electrical notices installed.  We now wait for the Trees on the site to be cut back and for the car park to be re-lined.  The franchise is changing on 1st April 2016 and we will have to start all over again to talk to the new franchisee.

To make progress the officers of LRA will be meeting on 7th and 17th March 2016 with interested parties who might be able to kick-start the process by helping us with their knowledge and expertise.
