We are looking for someone to volunteer to join the LRA team that looks after and develops the LRA website.  It is a small team, but, if you fancy it, please join up and help on the next phase of development of the website.

If, for whatever reason, you feel you can get something out of it and at the same time help LRA move forward, please consider volunteering.  We believe we are about to start a new, exiting phase of development of the website.  You might enjoy being part of it!

You REALLY don’t have to be “technical”.  If you are comfortable using the Internet (e.g. Google and e-mail) and maybe, an application or two e.g. a word processor, you will have no trouble.  You will get personal training on what you need to know to be confident in publishing on the website.

We can “tailor” your role, i.e. what you are involved in and how much time you can give, to suit you.

Our website went through a major re-vamp between August and the end of last year after falling into a state of disrepair, BUT it is still a long way from what we want it to be.

We have been aware that, at the moment, many people find it a bit boring and limited in its appeal.  It is, by and large, an effective source of “reference” material with a small amount of news items and reminders.  However, once residents have read that material, why should they visit the site on a regular basis?  They get door2door leaflets that give them reminders of events and their dates.  Perfectly valid question.

Recently, we have been reviewing the website and planning the next phase to take it forward.  As such, during the coming months, we will be setting up, and rolling out, a number of new features and services which we believe residents will like.  They will be able to interact with the website, fellow residents and the LRA Committee, by for example, having the facility to respond to items posted on the site, inputting your own comments and seeing those put in by other people (a bit like a Facebook blog).  But it will be much, much more than that!

We don’t want to reveal all our plans at this point.  To be honest, and we don’t really know what the “all” would be.  A great deal is possible, new ideas and “a fresh set of eyes” will be very welcome.  You can help shape the future of the website.

Interested?  We hope you are, just let us know via the Contact Us tab on the website or speak to one of the Committee who will put you in touch with an appropriate contact.
