There was another noise and smell issue early on Thursday morning from the Greencore Factory.  This was highlighted on Facebook (Longbarn Community & Chat) by several understandably, angry and concerned people.

The answer from the Factory is:

“We may have had an issue this morning but fully resolved now and a one off. The odour plant commissioning should be completed next week and then we will begin air monitoring, so hopefully the end is in sight”.

LRA’s contacts with Greencore have felt that the Greencore site management has done its best to address the problems for a long time, but they have been under the usual “commercial” constraints (money).  The latest revamp of the site is providing a “best chance” of  a real, effective fix.

Let’s hope that the end to these problems is “in sight”.  It will be a blessed relief to the residents who have had to put up with the problem for such a long time.
