You may have experienced, or perhaps heard about, some noise and vibration to Longbarn from the Greencore site on Monday last between 6pm and 7pm.  Apparently, contractors working on the site found, along the boundary of the site with the railway, some concrete pipes put there by a previous occupant of the site (Trollope & Coll) many years ago.   They were stood on their ends and filled.  This concrete, which nobody had known was there, had to be removed from the Greencore site.  It was hoped that this would be a “once off” operation.  However, there is still some concrete to be removed to complete this task.   Technically, although the Planning application allows work from 7am to 7pm any future works on this boundary will be restricted by Greencore to 6pm to curtail any further nuisance to residents of Longbarn.

It’s amazing what you discover underground when you dig down there!
